The Qualification specifies the minimum standard of competence forRating Forming Part of an Engineering Watch including competencies in engine room housekeeping and maintaining correct water level and steam pressure (for keeping boiler watch) on a seagoing ship powered by main propulsion machinery of 750 kW propulsion power or more.

This course is designed to equip individual with operational skills, knowledge and attitudes of Ratings Forming Part of an Engineering Watch in accordance with STCW Codes and Regulations. It covers core competencies such as perform functions of a rating forming part of an engine room watch, perform engine room housekeeping; and maintaining the water level and steam pressure (For keeping boiler watch). This course is also designed to enhance the basic and common knowledge, skills and attitudes of an individual in the field of engine seafaring.
