Rem adds another OSCV to orders at Kleven Verft

FEBRUARY 4, 2013 — Norway's Rem Offshore ASA has entered into a newbuilding contract for an OSCV vessel at Kleven Verft AS. The vessel will have a length of 117 meters and a breadth of 22 meters and is scheduled for delivery from the shipyard in second quarter 2014. The contract price for the vessel is approx NOK 580 million (about $78 million).

The vessel is of Marin Teknikk's MT 6022 L design and is the fifth major construction vessel that Kleven will build for Rem Offshore, which has ordered a total of 16 vessels from the shipbuilder since 2006.The vessel is of Marin Teknikk's MT 6022 L design

"We have a superbly cooperation with Kleven, and know that we are getting vessels delivered of good quality at the right time," says shipowner Åge Remøy. "The market for this type of ship looks good future, and we have entered into long-term contracts for two of the three construction ships we now have on order.

"It is always a pleasure to enter into new contracts with such a great partner as Rem Offshore, says Ståle Rasmussen, CEO of Kleven. "Kleven delivered the LNG-powered offshore supply vessel Rem Offshore Leader in January this year, and we have now have three construction vessels for Rem in the order book. Deliveries are set for June 2013, February 2014 and the second quarter of 2014."

Kleven has now 14 vessels in the order book, with a total value of about NOK 7.4 billion.
