Damen launches first vessel in new PSV series

JANUARY 28, 2013 — Launched this month at Damen Shipyards Galati, Romania, the World Diamond is the first of a series of six fully equipped Platform Supply Vessels for Norwegian offshore company World Wide Supply. It has been built to Damen's new PSV 3300 design.

The World Diamond and the other five vessels in the series are being built and completed in Galati with Damen Shipyards Gorinchem, in the Netherlands, providingthe design, engineering and main equipment.

Damen cooperates with a number of specialized suppliers including Helmers (insulations, upholstery and furniture), Eekels (electrical equipment and installations), Den Breejen (painting and conservation) and Johnson Control together with De Haan Galati (air conditioning and ventilation).

The DP2 World Diamond has firefighting and oil recovery capability and fulfils the latest requirements of Clean Design and Environmental Protection standards of the major classification societies.
