Supplementary course for working on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

COURSE CONTENT
1. Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) including:
- helicopter emergency procedures;
- preparation for helicopter ditching;
- evacuation from the helicopter;
- survival techniques in water;
- deployment and operation of Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS);

HUET course (theory and practice) will be carried out in the swimming pool at the Norwegian folk high school (Solborg Folkehøyskole) in Stavanger.

2.Course module: the use of escape chute

The training on the use of escape chute will be carried out in the premises of SOTS Course Center at Tømmerodden (Hundvåg).

3. Mandatory BST e-learning course (online)

The e-learning course will ensure that all course participants have acquired basic theoretical knowledge about the HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) culture before arriving at the course center.

The BST e-learning course can be taken at home and online before arriving to the course center. Instructions and an access to the online course will be sent to the participant after the registration to the course.

TARGET GROUP
All personnel seeking employment in the offshore industry on the Norwegian continental shelf.

DURATION
1 day for the Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) and escape chute training in Stavanger. BST e-learning module can be taken online at home prior to arriving Stavanger.

LOCATION
The course takes place in Stavanger:
- HUET in Solborg Folkehøyskole (location - http://bit.ly/solborg);
- Escape chute in Tømmerodden, Hundvåg (location - http://bit.ly/tommeroden).
Trasportation between locations will be organized by SOTS Course Center.

PRICE & DATE
The date and price is on request (will be decided soon). It includes the training, lunch, certification and transportation between the locations.
Not included: accommodation and transportation to and from the hotel.
SOTS Course Centre can give recommendations for the accommodation.

PREREQUISITES
Course documentation of IMO60 / IMO80 (not older than four years) or twelve months of seagoing service in the last five years provides the opportunity to be trained at an Norwegian Oil and Gas GSK refresher courses (this course includes Norwegian Oil and Gas-approved helicopter evacuation courses), and supplemented with GSK e-learning module.

VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATE
The Norwegian Oil and Gas certificate is valid for 4 years. Within 4 years the course must be repeated. The Norwegian Oil and Gas certificate will be issued to the participant at the date of the first module of the STCW training. Certificate allows to work also in offshore oil and gas sector in United Kingdom, Netherlands and Denmark without the need to take additional modules.

LANGUAGE
The course can be carried out in English or in Norwegian.
