Course provides training at an advanced level for all officers.The course forms part of the training requirements for both deck and engineering officers who wish to qualify for a Certificate of Competency. It also meets the needs of other seafarers who are designated to control fire-fighting operations.

After successful completion of the course the trainees should have a better understanding of controlling fire fighting operations aboard vessel, the effects of fire fighting water on ship stability, organizing and training fire parties and investigating and compiling reports on incidents involving fire.
